We’re already more than halfway through an eventful year for South African markets.

An improved political climate and an increase in trading activity mean that there are some exciting opportunities for IRESS and our clients in the second half of the year:

ITaC

The JSE’s Integrated Trading and Clearing (ITaC) initiative remains top of mind for us and our clients. We look forward to migrating 31 SAFEX Members – a mixture of new and existing clients – onto our internationally-proven solution as part of the shift to ITaC. Clients will be able to manage all equities and derivatives flow in a single order management system.

IRESS Evolution

We’ve kicked off IRESS Evolution, a project to migrate our trading clients from the Hermes suite to the IRESS technology stack. This migration will include:

·       A full international market data frontend

·       Multimarket capability (including ITaC)

·       Access to smart order routing and internalisation/liquidity pools.

If you haven’t already heard from your Account Manager, he or she will soon be in touch to discuss what this means for your business.

Access Algos

We continue to invest in our algorithmic trading roadmap. We’re now shifting clients from Hermes Algos onto the newer Access Algo platform, which enables us to deliver new and enhanced algorithms to our clients. We’re seeing increased interest in derivatives algorithms on ITaC’s more robust matching engine.

Retail broking

We’re progressing well with the implementation of full retail broking solutions at several large players, strengthening their capabilities with our rich functionality.

Script borrowing and lending

We have a number of exciting opportunities underway, from a fully-managed SLAMS service to newer industry data and indications of availability solutions. Our new collateral management solution is a product of a partnership with Strate and is gaining momentum. Please contact us if you would like us to add you to the delivery pipeline.
